Gurgaon's Ryan International School organises its Annual Sports Day-FASTRAX-PLAY
Gurgaon's Ryan International School in Sector 40 organized its Annual Sports Day "Fastrax-Play for India" on 22nd February 2014. The event was marked by a string of spectacular performances presented by the young Ryanites, who were brimming with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

The grand opening ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed guests Vikas Dhankar (DCP West), Dhruv Singh (Ranjee Trophy Player-Cricket), Dr. Rao (Retd DCP), M. Karan Singh (Athelete), Meenu Singh (President Sec-3, 5, 6-RWA), Suveera (President South City II-RWA), Dr. Pawan Saluja (Vice President- Action bridge gap constructions pvt. ltd), Sunil Kaul (Senior Project Manager-The oberoi), Pallav Kumar Phukan (Associate Vice President-Mosear bear projects ltd.) and Aashish Gupta (Vice President HDFC Bank).

The ceremony was auspicated with the recital of psalms from the Bible followed by a special prayer for the success of the event along with prayer songs. The members of the School Cabinet with the Mascot, Sprinty, the Cheetah welcomed the guests with badges and encouraged each guest to plant a sapling in the school in order to spread greenery.

The Ryanites accorded a warm welcome speech and song to the guests and parents. The march past by the students of Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu and Mahatma Gandhi Houses was the star attraction of the event as the Captains and Vice-Captains of every house along with their contingent marched smartly dressed in their colorful House Uniform. The grand March Past exhibited discipline and hardcore practice of the students.

The Sports Minister, Mansi Patil administered the solemn oath to the House Captains and the participants. The School Head officially declared the Sports Meet open, and released balloons to symbolizing the vibrant hopes of the sporting students that were flying high. The sports torch was carried by the Sports Minister and the House Captains.

The young students of Class II participated in the dumbbell drill that kept the spectators spellbound as students synchronized their body movements with the beats of the drum and dumbbells. The Aerobics/yoga ?India Rocks? show displayed that the Ryanites are health conscious and possessed supple body movements while doing yoga.

The long awaited athletics events were held which included track events and other innovative events like hoopla, balloon, lemon and spoon, collecting the cones, three legged, skipping, ball race etc. The sporting Ryanites participated enthusiastically in all of them. The prizes were given away by the esteemed guests and School Head.

Peeya Sharma to the winners of the races as well as to the students of Anubhav, a school for the under-privileged. The Mahatma Gandhi bagged the overall championship followed by Sarojini Naidu and the Indira Gandhi bagging the first and second runners up trophies respectively.

The individual champions were Harsheeta Shokeen-VI A (Swimming) Uttkarsh VI A and Gaurish Baberwal V C (karate) Shanker Seth IV (Karate), Arshelle Raheja (Skating) respectively. The event came to an end successfully with a celebration dance ?Jai Ho? followed by the vote of thanks given by the President of the School Cabinet, Seerat Walia. 

The Mascot for the Sports Day- Fastrax- ?Play for India?, Sprinty, the Cheetah who was full of energy and was a motivating factor to energize the Ryanites.
