Gwalior to host seminar on "New Media in India: Current Trends & Future Prospects"
A one-day national seminar on "New Media in India: Current Trends & Future Prospects" is going to be organised on March 30, 2016 in Gwalior by the Amity School of Communication, Amity University.
The purpose of the seminar is to understand the fast changing world of communication due to technological progress where the concept of global village is becoming a reality with new media.

"Because of its simulated appearance and digital nature, new media have added an element of gratification among the users of mass media in India," say the organisers adding that the advent of smart phone technology was already providing new media's penetration to rural areas.

Keeping in view the effects of initiative of Digital India and hyper convergence on culture, customs, traditions, security and identity of people, various topics such as semiotics and aesthetics of new media; new media and popular culture; new media, social engagement and virtual existence; identity construction and communal participation; gender security in the era of new media; youth and the new media and many more.

The seminar will also focus on the effects of new technology on the nature of journalism like citizen journalism and opportunities of new media, new media and political discourse, new media and question of autonomy, journalistic ethics and laws in new media era and similar allied topics.
