You might moan over your single status and long to be in a couple on days like the Valentine's Day. But count yourself lucky to still be able to concentrate on your own life. Enjoy singledom. Focus on your dreams and your career.

ONE MORE V-day has gone by. Those who are in love celebrated the day as if they cant express their love on any other day! Their expressions might have evoked a lot of sighs from the singles amongst the bystanders. From a sigh of disappointment, they can actually convert it into a sigh of relief. Wondering how? Being the luckier lot, they all need to be relieved. Yes, lucky to be single, with no strings attached. They can be on their own and spend the day leisurely while others break their heads over how to impress their partners with Valentine gifts. They can hang out with best friends or spend the day in the coziness of their room by reading books or listening to some nice mood-lifting songs and what not.

There is nothing wrong in being single as long as you love yourself and your life. As some optimists say, “God is up there still choosing the right match for you”. So why not be patient and wait for the right person and the right day. But for the time being, enjoy life to the fullest. There is nothing to distract you from your goals. Love is indeed a pleasant distraction, however, some people do ruin their lives in the name of that divine emotion! You might be single but rather than regretting it, make it an excuse to focus on your life and career. Once you are well-settled in terms of your career, you can look forward to that ‘pleasant distraction’.

You should make an array of good friends if you want to keep your single life interesting. Also a hobby or two, to keep you occupied. Be it arts/sports, travelling/reading, find something worthwhile to do in your free time. Each of these can give you immense learning. So find which hobby suits you best and indulge in it. You will be a refined person by the time you find the love of your life. Your life will change once you find that right person. In flowery language, stars will shine down on you and the flowers will shower their petals. You will succumb to the divine emotion called ‘love’. In practical words, you will also join the lot who struggle to balance their love life and professional life. Most of them are masters in the balancing act but some still struggle. It might be in the form of friction between the partner and your own family. Misunderstanding may crop up between couples. You will not find the partner as appealing as she/he was during the initial stages. Reasons for struggle are endless.

However, its up to you to wait and see which side you will join. Till then take a deep breath and say 'hail single life!'
