This decision seems to have been taken after the State Crime Records Bureau study revealed that around 20 percent of the crimes, which take place in the state related to property are found to have been committed by people coming from nearby states and other districts.
But, the police might have to act very wisely and not cause any sort of harassment to the aam aadmi stopping each and every car, while they conduct such checks. These policemen actually need to have some kind of an expert at the scene, who would be able to understand the human behaviour and catch those criminals. But, all in all, it is a great initiative that has been taken by Haryana Police for the safety of citizens.
Though it demands that the residents of the state remain patient during these check-ups, but on the flip side, it would give an opportunity to corrupt policemen to fleece people in the name of security. One thing that police officers need to make sure is that poor people from the states like West Bengal and Bihar who mostly do menial jobs in Gurgaon are not unnecessarily targeted and harassed.
