THE CONCEPT of Harihar Ashram is the brain child of Ambar Roy. The word ‘ambar’ means sky (Gagan). So Ambar Roy, a professionally qualified senior citizen with ample knowledge of life thought of setting-up the ashram close to nature. After all human beings are a product of nature, no one can deny that fact.
‘Hari’ means ‘Vishnu’ and ‘Hara’ stands for Shiva. So he selected the name ‘Harihar’. Almighty God in the form of Vishnu, maintains this beautiful world and all the living creations. Similarly, the Almighty God in the form of ‘Shiva’, absorbs all the sins of human-beings and also absorbs the tiredness of human beings. Vishnu provides food, happiness and a living space and Shiva takes care of your tiredness and sins.
