Great Sant Kabir's teachings that a wise enemy is better than a foolish friend is holding true with Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, whose advisers are putting him in unnecessary controversies. Latest example is visit of a deputation of Valmiki Samaj to Hooda's residence for conveying their thanks for appointing, Rajesh Vaid from their community as member of prestigious, Haryana Public Service Commission.
Emboldened by the praise of
community leaders, Hooda assured them that his Govt. will take all necessary
steps to promote the interests of Valmiki community. Hooda’s political
opponents have made it a big issue accusing him of violating model code of
conduct. R.S. Choudhary, spokesperson of Indian National Lok Dal has urged
Chief Election Commissioner to take action against Hooda.
At a time when model code of
conduct is in force, Hooda said that Valmiki Samaj has
always supported the Congress, adding that that whenever Congress had been out
of power, atrocities on the members of the Valmiki Samaj increased.
He added that the Congress got strength from
the Valmiki Samaj and has always given honour to the Samaj
Last week Hooda has appointed,
Rajesh Vaid, a turncoat politician who had contested Lok Sabha election from
Sirsa constituency on the BSP ticket and later assembly elections ticket on Haryana
Janhit Congress, and Neelam Singh as members of H.P.S.C on holiday by
completing formalities in a very secret manner apprehending annoucement of
Lok Sabha polls.
About six months ago also, when Harander
Pal was appointed member of Haryana Public Service Commission, his caste brothers had
thanked and honoured Hooda at a function held in Haryana Bhawan, Delhi for
appointing their caste brother as member of the Commission.
