Seventeen IPS officers and several Haryana Police Services (HPS) officers have been transferred by the Haryana Government. The step was taken with an intention to revamp the police department ahead of general elections to be held in April- May. The police personnel transferred by the Haryana Government includes nine cops from Gurgaon.
The transfered officers will now be replaced by other top police officers. Among the IPS officers who have been shuffled in Gurgaon
includes KK Sindhu, Additional Director General Police (vigilance), Gurgaon
has been appointed as ADGP, modernisation. Maheshwar Dayal, Joint Commissioner, Headquarters, Gurgaon has been given the post of Superintendent of Police, State Vigilance Bureau (SVB), Gurgaon.
Further, Rajiv Deswal, Police Commissioner of Ambala- Panchkula, has been appointed as IGP, Telecom whereas Ajay Singhal, IGP, Crime Investigation Department (CID) will replace Rajiv Deswal, a per a report by TOI.
Bharti Arora who was earlier handling Traffic, Gurgaon will now look in to the matters of general police from headquarters, Gurgaon. Yoginder Nehra has been transferred to Panipat as SP of Hisar. He was earlier posted as SP, SVB, Gurgaon as commandant of 4th Reserve Battalion.
Others officers who were transferred includes Hamid Akhtar, Assistant Inspector, General Police; Rahul Sharma, DCP Urban, Ambala; Vinod Kaushik has been posted as DCP Traffic, Gurgaon.
