Haryana Govt to issue notice against KBC for misrepresenting sex ratio facts!
Film star Amitabh Bachchan and Sony TV seems to be in trouble as Haryana Government has decided to issue legal notices to Sony Entertainment TV which has hosted Amitabh Bachchan's show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) for showing wrong figures about sex ratio in Madna village in Jhajjar district of Haryana.
When contacted, Rakesh Gupta,Commissioner Food and Drugs Administration, Haryana confirmed that notices are being issued. Responding to this citizen journalist's SMS, in which I asked whether the notice is being issued to Sony TV and Amitabh Bachchan for presenting wrong picture about sex ratio in KBC, Gupta responded positively.

G.L. Singhal, Joint Commissioner of FDA told that KBC has misquoted the figures, which has tarnished the image of department adding that within a short period of three months as many as ninety FIRs have been registered under the PNDT Act and entire machinery of the department is working day and night for catching those, who are indulged in illegal pre-birth sex tests.

Singhal said that their team members pose as dummy clients and are catching the culprits even sometimes at risk to their lives. This CJ (Pawan Kr. Bansal) has shot a letter to Amitabh Bachchan to bring it in his knowledge that facts on such a sensitive issue were shown incorrectly.

Rishiraj of Madana village has walked away with a prize of Rs 12 lakh and in that episode it was shown that the village has lowest sex ratio and female foeticide and infanticide is still rampant in the village.

To buttress their point organisers of the show have even shown a board which says, "Come for abortion for Rs. 500 plus medicines free."

Jhajjar's Deputy Commissioner, Chander Shekkhar has stated that it was done by the producers of the show for the sake of TRP. Though he admitted that such things happen but there can not be any board which openly calls abortion.

Even Trilok Chand, the village Sarpanch has stated that information given on the show is completely wrong, while adding that it seems to be an attempt to malign the village's image. Organizers are even accused of presenting dummy villagers on the show.
