The Haryana government has undertaken a costly publicity campaign for promoting itself on account of public money. The party's publicity gimmick just before fresh elections should be dealt with, by the CAG and the Election commission.
IT IS unethical and anti-public that the Haryana government is misusing huge amounts of public money for political purposes. Their costly publicity campaign through print and electronic media is a waste of crores of rupees of public money on a daily basis. This campaign began after the state assembly was pre-maturedly dissolved.
The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) and Election Commission should take note especially when such publicity campaign done through public-exchequer prominently portrays photos of the president of ruling party with that of chief minister.A petition against misuse of public-money on photo-publicity of political rulers through such costly advertisements is pending at Supreme Court for several years. Since political rulers can never be sincere to abolish their privilege of photo-publicity, instead of wasting any more time Apex Court should order a complete ban on publishing photos of living personalities in government-advertisements.
