Haryana Institute of Public Administration at Gurugram training officers in good governance
Haryana Institute of Public Administration is effectively discharging it duty of  improving the administrative capabilities and competence level of  its officers in order to enhance overall administrative efficacy of the state  and its responsiveness to the needs of public at large.

In recent past, it had organised institutional course for IAS probationers (2016) batch and foundation training programme for HCS officers of 2004 and 2016 batch. Dr G Prasanna Kumar, Director General of the Institute told Merinews  that the institute had  been awarded certificate for quality management  system by Bureau of Indian Standards.

For the first time, the HCS officer trainees were sent to "Mini Bharat Darshan Study Tour", an exclusive chance to savour the magnificence and rich diversity of the selected four states namely Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

At a time when the habit of book reading is diminishing, HIPA has started a Book Club which  invites authors to share with officers and trainees their book. KC Johorey, a Padma Shri awardee and retired IAS officer spoke about his book "India Pre and Post Independence, Indo China War and Beyond". The second book reading session was with retired Haryana IAS officer, RS Verma, about his book on Lals of Haryana. Writers have welcomed this initiative of the institute as they feel it will encourage habit of book reading. Dr Prasanna Kumar shared the vision statement of the institute .

"We seek to develop, strengthen and upgrade qualities of professionalism, responsiveness, integrity  and courage amongst Civil Servants, in our rendezvous to promote excellence and good governance in Haryana, through research and training aimed at enhancement of skills knowledge and attitudinal change."
