Haryana Police allegedly beats gang rape victim; gets Supreme Court's notice
A teenage girl of Sudana village in Rohtak, home district of Haryana's Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was kidnapped by four persons, and raped by nine persons for fifteen days and taken to Delhi. On her recovery with the help of her parents, Haryana Police instead of taking any action against the influential accused, beat up the girl in Police station and threatened her not to name all the accused before magistrate.

While Chief Minister Hooda was busy in election campaigning for Congress in Rajasthan and Delhi for about last seven days, Supreme Court has issued notice to Haryana Chief Secretary, Haryana Police and Delhi Police Commissioner to reply within four days.

Expressing lack of faith in the state Police the victim has approached the apex court for shifting trial of the case outside Haryana, preferably to CBI and demanded punitive action against Police officers who had threatened her instead of taking action against the accused.

Since the victim was recovered from Delhi hence the notice was also issued to Police Commissioner of Delhi. The shameful incident that happened in home district of Chief Minister, bordering national capital, has exposed women politicians of the state cutting across party lines and women organisations and media particularly national media.

Focus TV owned by industrialist Naveen Jindal has taken up the issue. Entire national media and TV Channels have devoted enough coverage to the mere charges of sexual harassment against a former Judge of Supreme Court on mere mentioning of the incident in her blog. But here a teenage girl belonging to poor family is subjected to inhuman and barbaric torture first by the rapists then by the Police.

No TV channel except Focus TV has bothered to highlight the issue. Highly placed sources told this  citzen journalist that it is due to media management by media advisers of Hooda. Even Asha Hooda, wife of Chief Minister who is Vice-Chairperson of Bal Kalyan Parishad, who had recently expressed concern about the safety of women at a social function in Panipat is silent over the issue.

Savitri Jindal, mother of Navin Jindal, who is minister in Hooda Govt. and other politicians have not bothered to meet and console the victim whose family is continuously geting threats from powerful accused. Ironically two days back the Haryana Police has decided to form special cells at Police stations to check evils of domestic violence and child marriage.
