Haryana police finally initiates action to arrest godman Rampal; brutally attacks media also for no reason
With Haryana High Court taking tough stand on the production of self proclaimed godman Rampal in the court by November 21 and criticising the State police for failing to do so on previous dates, a war like situation has surfaced in Hisar district where the godman is hiding in his Satlok ashram compound.

As per the latest reports coming in the police has given final warning to the Rampal's followers to leave the Ashram or face the music. Earlier in the day, police lathicharged Rampal's supporters who were sitting outside the ashram posing as human shield.

After the mild lathicharge the police managed to clear the area outside the ashram. However according to various media reports, still thousands of supporters along with hundreds of Rampal's personal security guards are present inside the ashram.

To stop police from entering the compound they are reportedly throwing petrol bombs, and stones at the police. Some reports also suggest that gun shots have also been fired on the police. So far the police has used tear gas and mild lathicharge to disrupt the supporters.

Meanwhile after getting reports that some people have been held forcefully inside the ashram premise and were not allowed to leave the compound, the police has broken a part of the fence around the ashram with the help of earth-moving machines to enable people to escape.

In this entire process of capturing Rampal, the Haryana police committed a blunder when its men brutally attacked media persons especially the TV crews, who were doing coverage of the police action.

One being asked why media was attacked, none of the Haryana police officials were able to give any answer so far. Later some higher police officials did the formality of saying that the matter will be probed. Media has also accused the Haryana police of destroying their equipments like camera, mic, mobiles and live machines.

Amid questions being raised on how the godman became so strong that even the entire State machinery is feeling helpless in front of him, the Union government has sought report from the State about the entire Hisar matter.

Prakash Singh, a former DGP of UP,while speaking to on this issue opined that whatever the situations were the State government can enforce the law of the land if it wants to do so.

"See the point is irrespective of the personalities involved, the law should do its work. See the government has enough strength to enforce the law," said Singh.
