Haryana Power Distribution Corporation forms a new committee to upgrade power supply
South and North Haryana Power Distribution Corporations have extended their facility to provide electricity connection during low demand to 31st December, 2014. However, preferences for the pending connections will remain unchanged.
Devendar Singh, Chief Secretary of Power Corporation and Chairman of Haryana Power Distribution said, “In order to supply high voltage electricity, the authority of field officers have been elevated to approve the high voltage connection. Our main aim is to continue the electrical connections for the overall development of the state. Approval to provide 500KV has been granted to the concerned authorities during the low demand of electricity. On the other hand, one MVA 1000KV of high power supply have been approved by the Deputy General Manager and by the Authorized Officer.”
He further added, “In view of the time required to release high-voltage connection, H.T. connection to the process of issuing corporations have changed. Now, with the approval of the applicant, a load demand notice will be issued within seven days after receipt of the connection test and report will be further issued within next seven days. One can get a new connection within two months after applying for the same with an application. The officer cannot reject the plea made by any applicant, although the officer needs to visit the Assistant General Manager to rectify any objections mentioned in the application with an aim to approve it.”
The Chief Secretary elaborated, “Stations with 66KV or more will require the approval of The Chief General Manager (Operations), General Manager (Planning and Design), General Manager (T&S.), which comes under the umbrella of Haryana Power Transmission Corporation. A committee of the same has been formed that will look into the technical matters and the affairs of the Power Corporation. General Manager (Operations) and General Manager (T&S) will come in power in cases where the power department needs an expansion and where creating a separate 'Bay' might be discussed, if needed.”
The three member committee will review the cases on second Monday of every month. The load sanctioning officer will be responsible to issue connections whilst following the rules and regulations of The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission.
