Haryana Power engineers demand new Director
Haryana power engineers have demanded removal of pay anomalies and posting of new Director (Thermal). The Haryana Power Engineers Association (HPEA) has demanded that the appointment of new Director (Thermal ) immediately and removal of pay anomalies.

HPEA IN its meeting held at Panipat on March 4 expressed serious concern about the proposed extensions to two retiring engineers on expiry of their terms. The term of present Director thermal expires this week and the person has no knowledge of working of thermal plants.

R S Dahiya, the President of the association, has said that the association is fully opposed to the extension to anyone beyond superannuation. The extension to any person  denies a chance of promotion to working engineers, which causes heart burn, besides affecting the efficiency and moral of serving engineers.

The association demanded reinstatement of executive engineer who was suspended in September last year when unit was forced to shut down at Yamuna Nagar due to inferior Chinese design and equipment.

Meanwhile, the All India Power Engineers Federation has also written to the Chief Minister of Haryana to shun the move to grant extension of term to Director, Thermal, and the Chief Executive Officer, and new officers should be given their due promotions.

The Association also sought the implementation of Haryana Government'ss order regarding the grant of increment on promotion and grant of time scales. Three out of four utilities are not giving increments to assistant engineer on his promotion as assistant executive engineer or at the time of time scales. All the power utilities have adopted the state government orders but continue to harsh the engineers. Class I engineers have been placed in Pay Band II instead of Pay Band III and this is highly discriminatory.
