HUMAN RESOURCE Development Ministry, Government of India, has selected Haryana for starting a pilot project in local need-based vocational education at the school level.

According to Haryana Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal, in the proposed project vocational education would supplement normal education to enhance students' to be placed after school education.
In Haryana, the vocational courses in agriculture, horticulture technology and animal husbandry will be tried out during the pilot phase.Union Human Resource Development Ministry, has released a new document on National Vocational Education Qualification Framework with vocational courses at par with general school education keeping in view the skills needed by current market trends.Bhukkal has demanded that training and technical support costs during the pilot phase of the proposed vocational course in Haryana should be met by the Central government. The Haryana Education and Industrial Training Minister Geeta Bhukkal also said, “'Under this project, the school children will be given training in vocational education in addition to normal education. This will not only add to their capability, but will also help in their employability.”
