Haryana's Sports School at Rai to organize study skills workshop to flip classroom
Motilal Nehru School of Sports at Rai in Haryana is going to organize a school-based training on study skills in April with a follow-up so as to flip the classroom and enable senior students to do serious studies through processing skills during the evening prep and get their difficulties removed during school hours, stated Ajay Rathi ? an alumnus of school and office bearer of ex-Raist Association.

According to the resource person of the workshop, five read-to-learn skills, namely, literacy and vocabulary skill; linear out-lining skill; web-charting skill; graphics organization skill, and working memory skills through language arts will be taken up during the workshop to be attended  jointly by lead teachers a section of senior students.

The training sessions will follow three stages of mastering the skills through a module prepared by Dr Lalit Kishore, who has been a teacher at the school. The training sessions will have the demonstration stage; guided learning exercises and the practice stage to hone each of the five skills.

The school authorities have shown the commitment for the follow- up of the workshop and institutionalize the skills through a cascade model of in-house master trainers. It is envisaged that the follow-up mechanism will flip the classroom and inculcate the reading and self-study habits among the staff and students alike.
