THE PUNE based real estate consultant, stud farm owner and India’s biggest tax defaulter, Hasan Ali Khan is finally in Enforcement directorate’s custody. The ED’s eyes were on him since four years, and now the Director, ED, is personally supervising this case and will file a report in the next 10 days.
When the multi-billionaire defaulter was driven from his Pune residence in his Mercedes to Peddar Road residence, his houses and lockers were checked. When he was taken to court he requested to stay in JJ hospital as he is suffering from hypertension and kidney trouble.
After medical tests were conducted, he was found in normal health and it was just a drama played by Ali to evade lock up. The action came after the Supreme Court criticised the investigating agency for slack handling of the case. The government also claimed that it was contemplating framing Maharashtra Control of Organised Crimes Act (MCOCA) charges against Khan.
The 53-year old Khan, who was arrested under the prevention of money laundering act told reporters that he is innocent and he does not understand why they are putting him in trouble. Khan is accused of stashing huge amounts of black money in foreign banks in Switzerland.
