Irrespective of the religion, colour or creed, the saint at this Bihar shrine blesses all with happiness. Along with the Muslim believers, Hindus also visit the shrine and many of them have regained happiness in their lives after paying obeisance at the shrine.
LOCATED IN India's eastern state of Bihar, the city of Gaya is worth a mention when it comes to Hindu Muslim amity. There are many places in the city which strenthen ties between people belonging to different religions. One example is the masoleum of Hazrat Phir Manzoor.
Everyday, irrespective of the caste, creed or gender, devotees gather here to pay their respects to the saint. Mushtaq Alvi, a priest at the mausoleum while talking to the ANI said, “Hindus and Muslims, all come here to pray. In fact the majority of the population is from Hindu community here. Here, wishes of all the devotees are fulfilled.”
Sudha Srivastav, who is a daily visitor to the place feels peace with her inner-self when she comes to visit. She said, “Since we started praying at the shrine all our prayers have been answered. We are happy and we are doing well.” It is believed that wishes of the devotees who visit the shrine are fulfilled with blessings of the saint. While some offer holy cloth or chadar for the fulfillment of the wishes others queue up to offer flowers to the saint.
Maulvi Mushtaq Alvi said, “The spirit of the saint is unattached. His blessings are always there with his devotees. No one has ever returned empty handed from his door step. Places like these play an important role in bringing together people of all faiths under one embracing religion called humanity.”
