The Punjab and Haryana high court held two senior officers guilty for possessing more than one plot and directed HUDA to find out if they violated the norms while in position. These two HUDA officials were named in the plot allotment scam according to a RTI filed by SK Sharma.
According to the sources, the case was produced in front of a
bench headed by Daya Chaudhary. During the case hearing, on the
behalf of complainant Army colonel, the counsel claimed that Haryana
Principal Secretary TC Gupta, Former HUDA Chief Administrator took
the wrong advantage of the their power while posted in Gurgoan. They
unnecessarily occupied more than one plots. They even forgot the
rights of reserved category.
In the court, HUDA Chief Administrator raised the objection on the
allegations and tried to defend TC Gupta by presenting an affidavit
before the justice. That affidavit showed that Gupta had not
possessed multiple plots in sectors developed by HUDA.
After this, the high court directed HUDA Department to look into
the facts and produce records regarding alleged senior IAS officials
in this fraud. Setting up of a Special Investing Team was also
suggested by advocate general, Hawa Singh at district level. But
proposal did not go well with the complainant. He recommended the
justice to hand over this case to CBI than district based SIT. Now
the case will be heard on August 1, 2014.
