HC refuses to intervene in the cremation of Ashutosh Maharaj's mortal remains
The Punjab and Haryana High court on Tuesday, refused to intervene in the case of cremation of Ashutosh Maharaj's mortal remains.

The self-styled godman was the founder and chief of Divya Joyti Jagrati Sansthan. The court said that it was an issue of religious belief. 

The court while hearing Divya Joyti Jagrati Sansthan's petition stated that it could not interference in the religious beliefs until the body of Maharaj was in good condition and under preservation. The court has also constituted a medical board of DMC LDH doctors including Civil surgeon Jalandhar who would be examining the body of Ashutosh Maharaj.

Court also dismissed Dalip Kumar Jha's petition who had claimed himself to be the biological son of Ashutosh Maharaj seeking hismortal remains for cremation. The court has asked Jha to file a civil suit for DNA testingto prove his claim that he is the son of Ashutosh Maharaj.
