The iPhone OS 4 Beta 3 has ability to capture video at 1280×720 HD resolution instead of the standard 640×480 VGA. It was unearthed in the code of the same iPhone OS 4.0 beta that brought the USB file transfers and the rotation lock. In OS 4 suggested that the next iPhone might do HD video recording in AVCaptureSessionPreset640×480 and AVCaptureSessionPreset1280×720.
The Apple iPhone 4G will pack a megapixel camera with additional LED flash along with a front-facing cam for video conferencing (via iChat) will be one of the many highlights of the next iPhone. It is also worth pointing out that such a feature would back up rumors of the iPhone HD ‘tag’ that has also been associated with the device, along with simply ‘4G’ and meets the hardware requirements. However, nothing has been confirmed at this moment.
The next iPhone might have HD video recording ability to record 720p high definition video at 1280×720 resolution. Apple is expected to unveil the next-generation iPhone for general availability at the annual WWDC 2010 conference in San Francisco, CA on the 7 June.
