He started making enquiries and stumbled upon the London based branch of Quest International in Chennai. Through them, he got to know how to further proceed in the matter, focusing on two key aspects: The personal hygiene of the students in his school and the school environment Representatives from the Quest International inspected the school at least six times in five months and guided the headmaster until the institution was fit to get the certification. Finally and for the first time in the state, the government middle school in rural Tamil Nadu got the prestigious ISO 9001-2008 certification for maintaining academic excellence, good environment and cleanliness. People have already started talking about this headmaster becoming a role for others similarly placed. Let's hope many more schools in the country achieve the unique distinction of getting the ISO certification which would make the students and their parents feel all the more comfortable about the school and its environment.
Let us also hope many high schools and colleges in different parts of the country join in this exercise to get relevant certification for maintaining world class standards, which is the need of the hour for a majority of the educational institutions.
