5000 year old lifestyle science of Ayurveda has heaped praise for coconut oil for its multiple benefits. Even more in science, which used to say, saturated fat is bad for health, has changed its views, convinced that the ancient oil has unique and essential properties with benefits.

Coconut oil is predominantly composed of the very rare medium chained fatty acids or MCFAs. Virgin coconut oil has the highest concentration of MCFA, outside human breast milk. Coconut oil is extremely stable and resistant to oxidation. Some expert say that coconut oil is the only oil that should be used for cooking, as it is the most heat stable.
Coconut oil has also been shown in research studies, which has anti-microbial properties, which had an adverse effect on fungus, bacteria and yeast. Coconut oil also appears to have a natural anti-inflammatory effect, which ultimately supports your immune system.
Apart from health benefits, the oil can also be used as a skin moisturizer, which is said to be good for dry skin. People in India also use this as a hair oil, as it can play an important role in reducing protein's loss in one's hair.
