Health benefits of cod liver oil
The medical benefits of cod liver goes back to centuries. Cod liver oil as the name suggests is extracted from liver of cod fish, it is one of the best sources of Omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA.

Cod liver oil also contains vitamin A and vitamin D. Apart from being a good source of nutrients, studies have found that cod liver oil may have some very important therapeutic properties.

Cod liver oil helps in preventing the joint stiffness associated with arthritis, have a positive effect on cardiovascular health and help in repairing wounded teeth, nail, hair and skin. It also reduces pain, and damage caused by osteoarthritis, as well as reduces the need for joint replacement.

Cod liver oil contains high amount of vitamin D, that may play a key role in maintaining a good brain function in old age, it contains more vitamin A per unit rate, then any other common foods.
