Healthy ways to eat non-vegetarian food
Eating meat most of the time is not healthy. It leads to high cholesterol, heart diseases and high blood pressure. People genetically have narrower blood vessel, which could be the reason for the vulnerability to cardiovascular diseases. Here are some tips on how to eat meat with lesser risk of health problems.

Choose the right meat – Fish is the healthiest of all the non-vegetarian foods; it may be eaten daily. Lean white meat like chicken and turkey rank next. Red meat should be avoided or eaten rarely.

What not to choose – Always buy fresh meat and restrict processed or canned meat, which includes sausages, canned meat, burgers, salami, hams etc.

Fat from the meat – All the visible fat on meat and poultry should be removed before cooking. On the contrary, the fat of fish is healthy. The fattier the fish the healthier it is, reported Indiainteracts.

Combining with other foods – A plate of fish and chips is not a healthy combination. Never forget to eat vegetables or fruits, when you eat non-vegetarian meal. The vitamins in the plant food help in absorption of the minerals like iron in the meat. And also when one eats a lot of salad and fruits along with the meat, one will tend to eat lesser portions of the meat.

Cooking methods – Pan grill the fish and use its own fat and keep basting it, and try to avoid using extra oil to grill it. Use minimum oil to prepare the curry and don't deep fry the meat, fish or poultry. Partially cook the meat and then grill or fry it.

Portions – Don't over-eat the non-vegetarian food; take only 60 to 90 grams per day, it is the healthy amount to be taken. You also need to change your eating habits, according to the medical conditions you are suffering with.

Non-vegetarian foods have their health benefits, so it is wrong to call them bad foods. They are the best sources of protein, iron, vitamin B12 and vitamin D. So, it can give good benefits, if taken in moderation and combined with plant-based food and cooked in a proper way.
