Heathrow Airport gets busy with Olympic athletes pouring in
The athletes for the London Olympic Games, which is scheduled to start from 27 July to August 12, 2012 has started pouring in. Heathrow Airport is going to get busy with the number of footfalls bound to increase with athletes pouring in.

ATHLETES FROM all over the world have been waiting for the 2012 Olympic Games to start in London. Athletes, team officials, and family members have started pouring into London for the Games. Monday was the first day for the athletes to land in London, after which they had to be taken to the Olympic Village. In an AFP video, Tom Willis, operations Manager at Heathrow terminal 4 said that it would be the busiest day in Heathrow airport with around 237,000 passengers departing and arriving in the airport. Most of the people coming into London are for the Olympic Games.

With so many athletes and visitors coming to London for the Games, the airport officials have a huge task. They need to be on top of their toes too. There are a large number of security personnel that have been deployed in the area too. Along with it, trained dogs have also been arranged for airport's security.

The London Olympic Games is scheduled to start from 27 July to August 12, 2012. It is one of the most awaited sporting spectacle, as it only takes place once in four years. The standard of competition is going to be of top notch, as it is not only about an individual winning an award but also an athlete bringing laurels to the nation. Nothing compares to an athlete winning a gold medal and his nation's national anthem being played in the background. It would also be an emotional moment for the athletes, where some athletes break down with glory.

It is not only a great moment for athletes to represent their nation, but also those volunteers, who have a chance to see their favourite athletes with their naked eyes, from a distance of a few meters. One such volunteer, Michael Martin, Olympic Welcoming Volunteer, says that it is a great privilege and honour to be a part of the Games, and a matter of achievement.

While some athletes are very much focused on the task at hand. They have only one goal - to bring laurels to the country and win a medal. Marleen Van lersel, a Beach Volleyball player from Netherlands believes that they have a chance and can beat every team in the world. She seems to be confident about their success in the Games.
