Heavy rains continue to lash southern India while north reeling under drought
Even though over a month has passed since the of arrival of monsoon in the Indian subcontinent, there has been comparatively less rain in many states of northern India. But at the same time, southern Indian states are receiving unprecedented rainfall.

As per the Meteorological Department the state to have received the lowest rainfall so far this year is Uttar Pradesh. Thirty nine per cent of the country is still dry which looks unbelievable after heavy rains in Delhi last week.

The MeT department predicts that on 18 July Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will experience heavy rainfall.

On the other hand, in Delhi and NCR region more than 32mm rainfall was recorded on Monday which surely falls under heavy category. Due to this, there was waterlogging on the roads and people faced traffic snarls all over the national capital.
