Heavy rains in Mumbai affect normal life
Meanwhile, civic authorities in Mumbai have stepped into action to save the city from chaos caused by rainfalls. Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has said that 200 pumps have been put into action in low lying areas in the city.

HEAVY RAINS in Mumbai and neighbouring Thane have claimed eight lives and affected normal life as may areas in the metropolis reported water logging. In Thane's Dnyaneshwar Nagar, a wall collapsed leading to the death of eight workers following heavy rains.

The movement of vehicles on the road has also been adversely affected due to incessant rains as Dadar, Parel, Andheri and Hind Mata witnessed water logging. Local trains in Mumbai are also running behind schedule by 10 to 15 minutes whereas the flight operations are also delayed due to poor visibility.

Meanwhile, civic authorities in Mumbai have stepped into action to save the city from chaos caused by rainfalls. Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has said that 200 pumps have been put into action in low lying areas in the city.

The Municipal authorities have also said that 700 buildings in danger of collapsing have been identified.

The Met officials have said that there would be rains and thundershowers in Mumbai in the coming few days. It has also issued warning of high tides from June 13 to June 17, which could measure between 4.58 to 4.73 metres.
