CNN ANCHOR Heidi Collins of ‘CNN Newsroom’ fame is all set to leave the network to make way for Ali Velshi, who will now be hosting a two hour show everyday from 10 am to noon.
Interestingly, the move will also see Kyra Phillips shifted to a different time slot of 6 am to 8 am, considering her current time slot has now been allocated to Ali Velshi
Expressing their gratitude towards Collins for her contributions, CNN further revealed that Heidi will be making a formal exit on January 15. Collins had been associated with the network for the past seven years.
Ali Velshi is CNN’s chief business correspondent, and he currently hosts the business centric TV show ‘Your $$$$$’ along with another show for CNN Radio, ‘The Ali Velshi Show.’ He will be taking over his new show on January 18.
Beginning January 18, anchor Rick Sanchez’s show ‘Rick’s List’ will also be expanded to a two hour show, thereby reducing the duration of ‘The Situation Room’ from its current three hours to two hours. The 4 pm slot will now have a new show hosted by CNN’s political reporter John King.
.What the hell was CNN thinking? Heidi Collins was amazing and beautiful all in one. I feel sorry for the next person whom has to replace her. All the best to her in her future as an anchor.
.CNN is over for me. With Mrs. Heidi Collin now in the past I will move to another source for news. The greatest of luck to you Heidi, I'm sure you will be rewarded elsewhere. I to, will look for you with another television news group. You will be sadly missed.
.Heidi Collins has been a tremendous asset to CNN and I find it very unfortunate that the network did not do whatever necessary to keep her on air. Not very savvy of you CNN. Heidi, I will watch for you on air-- best to you! Robin inVirginia
