Heirs of traitors making merry while heirs of freedom fighters fight poverty
The first war of Independence was fought in 1857. It lasted for about a year. Its heroes were Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi, Tatya Topey, Nana Sahib and Bahadur Shah Zafar.

Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi not only fought the English valiantly but also snatched Gwalior from them.  However, she died of a gunshot wound near Gwalior. Tatya Topey in close collaboration with Rani Laxmi Bai fought the English equally bravely but was caught and sentenced to death.

Nana Sahib also fought the English rulers but was unsucessful and had to run away to Nepal. Bahadur Shah Zafar who was the Emperor of India and a brilliant poet fought brilliantly against the British people but was defeated and later tried for conspiracy and exiled to Rangoon in Burma where he died.

These were freedom fighters whom our ruling Congress people should have rewarded by giving positions of importance to their heirs but the Congress party failed to do so and the heirs of these valiant freedom fighters are languishing in poverty while the heirs of traitors like Maharaja of Patiala and Scindia of Gwalior who sided with the British during the first War of Independence have been rewarded by the Congress party with ministerial berths. Is not it a great tragedy? And BJP is equally to be blamed. It had also given important positions to heirs of the traitor Scindia.
