Hence, I shouldn't cast my vote
I want to know from our political leaders that during election campaign why do you indulge in a war of words against one other? During election time you have daggers drawn but after elections you are happily eating meals together. In this scenario whom should I vote for and why should I vote?

I'M CONFUSED and I'm not an getting answer to the question from my inner soul - Should I cast vote in elections or not? Since my childhood, my parents and teachers told me that everyone should exercise his voting rights in all elections. Nowadays, the media (electronic, print and web) educates people to cast their valuable votes in an election. Every vote is very important for the change and development of the nation.

But I want to know one answer - what is the value of our vote? Politicians have no honour of our so-called valuable votes. I'm confused because after elections politicians join hands with the party who they defeated in the elections or against whom they used a lot of fiery words. In the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Congress used verbal war against each other, and now their leaders come to the same dais for lunch, dinner, etc.

During the elections I thought this party will understand our grievances and solve all the problems. This party will raise its voice in assembly and parliament against corruption, inflation, unemployment, safety, security, development and all other burning issues related to common people. But what happened... two arch rivals are taking lunch together in the name of national interest, secularism, etc. I want to know from these leaders that during election campaign why you use war of words against each other?

In the recent Uttar Pradesh assembly election, I saw one event when congress leaders beat a SP supporter at a helipad. In one incident Rahul Gandhi was accusing previous state governments for non development work in the state. He was wiping tears of poor people and took lunch or dinner at their home. Akhilesh Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav were accusing BSP government and central government. In a later incident West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee opposed candidature of Pranab Mukherjee for the Presidential election inspite of Pranab Da having rich experience in politics, with his image being very good among common Indians, and he belongs to her state. Just before the election her mind changed and she asked her MPs and MLAs to vote for Pranab Da. There are so many similar incidents in Indian politics.

I am unable to understand if one is in BJP, then he is secular and if he joins other party, then he is not secular. How is it possible? I have never encountered people in real life who like politicians change their mindset in a minute or a day. I can bet, today if L K Advani joins Congress, then there would be no place for secularism in him or if Sonia Gandhi joins BJP, then she would not be more opposed for being a foreigner. In our country a political party is secular or nationalist, not a leader.

Is this the face of politics? I want to know whom I should vote for - a person or a party? If I vote for a party, then I'm being cheated, if I vote for a candidate, then I'm being cheated. There is no option and I shouldn't cast my so-called valuable votes. After election our elected honorable MPs, MLAs or other constituent members will play with the emotions of our vote - ever and forever, then what is the value of exercising of voting rights?

Its in human nature to find fault with others. In politics we go it in a organized way of defaming the opposition party by picking up a negative point in each one of them that we can highlight. So there is nothing wrong with it. Ultimately, the citizens of the country have to use their brains to understand which of these allegations/branding are true and which are not.
