Her name was Steven Stanton, now its Susan Stanton - watch documentary

He was Steven Stanton first and then after undergoing the gender reassignment surgery in the year 2008, he became a woman and is now Susan Stanton. Steven Stanton was a city manager in Florida, but after the surgery he lost both his job and marriage.

Do watch CNN on Saturday at 8 and 11pm. It will feature a new documentary called, Her Name was Steven. Susan will be the focus of the documentary. She agreed to do the documentary to "put a human face on (something) people still have a profound misunderstanding of."

Susan said that her life as a man was still a huge part of her. She is divorced but said that she still talks to her ex-wife and also loves her just as much as she always used to. Her son's devotion was never wavered and he still calls her Dad.

Susan Stanton said "For the most part - most things I do in my life - the fact that Susan used to be Steven is totally irrelevant," Stanton said. "But it's very much part of who I am. I don't think you can ever deny your human story."

.very compelling, I think this again brings to light some of the significant struggles that individuals have within sexual identity. This documentary was very well done and very touching.
