Here comes the 'Mother-in-Law Day'!
One can certainly pay regards to mother-in-law by giving her gifts or sending a greeting card or SMS that will show your affection and care. It is the best day to honour and please your mother-in-law.
'MOTHER-IN-Law Day' is celebrated on the 4th Sunday in October. This year it is on October 24. This tradition began in 2002 to celebrate those special In-Laws! It is similar to Mother's Day and is being promoted by cards, flowers and confectionary industries. Some SMSes could be: "Happy Mother-In-Law Day"; "Glad You're My Mother-In-Law, You're A Treasure";"You're a Gem of a Mother-In-Law, Wish You All the Best": " You're My Second Wonderful Mom: Happy Mother-In-Law Day", etc. Many believe that laughing for 15 seconds a day adds two days to a person's overall lifespan. Much laughter has created by the jokes on mother-in-laws among friends, and never in front of your 'second mom'. Since marriages bring in the in-laws, there are jokes and one- liners on them too.Here are some for just clean laughs. § I saw six men kicking and punching the mother-in-law...My neighbour said, “Aren’t you going to help?”... I said, “No, six should be enough?” § Mixed feeling is when you see your mother-in-law drive over a cliff in your new car.” § The wife said, “How would you like to speak to Mummy?”...I said, “Through a spiritualist?” § A psychiatrist is a person who will give you expensive answers that your wife (and mother-in-law) will give you for free. § Every man should get married (to have in-laws) some time; after all, happiness is not the only thing in life. § Love is blind but marriage is an eye-opener. § When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be sure of one thing: either the car is new or the wife. § When a newly married couple smiles, everyone knows why. When a ten-year married couple smiles, everyone wonders why. An English movie depicting a mother-in-law was titled "Monster-In-Law" and Kerry Bashford in her review writes the main character of the movie is the stock comedic icon, the interfering, insidious person that bores the mother-in-law with one-liners in chauvinistic stand-up, but makes the audience laugh.
