Hero Indian Super League: Kerala Blasters take on the mighty Atletico de Kolkata in match 5
Home team Kerala Blasters face tough opponents in the form of Atletico de Kolkata in match number 5 of the Hero Indian Super League to be played on Wednesday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.

The odds are heavily stacked against the Kerala Blasters in their first home game of Season III of the League. Last season, Kerala Blasters had finished at the last position of the points table with just 13 points from 14 games. The Blasters had lost 7 and won just 3 matches while 4 games had ended in draws.

The situation for the Kerala Blasters does not look any better in this season after having lost their opening game against NorthEast United 1-0. Moreover, the team has not had a single training session ahead of today's game. The side also does not look perfectly balanced.

Former England World Cup player and the new coach of the Kerala Blasters, Steve Coppell did not mince his words while highlighting the shortcomings of his team. On Tuesday, he said, "I think it is a bit of a problem for this tournament because for a foreign coach coming in, you are more or less presented with a squad of players and you have to make the best out of the squad that is given."

"The squad is not quite balanced. But we can make do, we will make do, we will be progressive with the selections that we make," he added.

However, the return of Josue Currias Prieto could prove to be a much needed shot in the arm for the Blasters. The Spaniard makes his return after a one-match suspension. Kerala Blasters have been particularly facing problems in the midfield by losing possession of the ball frequently during the last few matches.

On the other hand, Atletico de Kolkata look a much more settled side. The coach Jose Molina is expected to announce the same squad that had emerged victorious against Chennaiyin FC in the opening match.

As usual Debjit Majumdar will continue to be the number one player while Pritam Kotal, Arnab Mondal, Tiri and Robert Lalthlamuana will be in the roles of defenders. The good news for ATK is that Bikramjit Singh has fully recovered from the cramps he had suffered in the last game.

However ATK's coach, Molina said that he will not take Wednesday's game lightly and has a proper plan in place against the Kerala Blasters. He said, "We watched the NorthEast versus Kerala match and we believe we know something about them and will try to take advantage of some of those situations."
