High Court ban on beef sale in J&K a welcome step, says Shri Ram Sena; demands shifting of meat shops from Jammu
Welcoming the J&K State High Court decision of imposing ban on beef sale in Jammu and Kashmir state, Shri Ram Sena's state president, Rajiv Mahajan has also demanded shifting of meat shops running in each nook and corner of Jammu- the city of temples to some proposed meat markets outside Jammu city.
Mahajan said the presence of meat shops near temples and in streets of Jammu city hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, so these needs to be shifted to markets outside Jammu city away from the vicinity of temples.

Rajiv Mahajan has urged the authorities to take immediate steps to close down all the meat shops in Jammu city. He said, it is surprising that the administration has allowed the businessmen to open meat shops in the city of temples like grocery shops, thereby hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus of Jammu as also of the visiting pilgrims.

Government must take steps to ensure that this sensitive issue is resolved amicably and immediately, Mahajan added.

Mahajan also urged ministers from Jammu to play their positive role in closing down these meat shops in the city of temples and shift them outside the municipality limits.

He called upon the like-minded parties to raise their voice and join this movement to get rid of meat shops menace in this city of temples.

Mahajan also urged the wholesale and retail meat dealers to extend their cooperation so that religious sentiments of Hindu community in Jammu are not hurt.
