High level team to probe Jaipur fire incident: Deora
Deora also visited the fire victims at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh in case of death, Rs 2 lakh each for seriously injured and Rs 1 lakh for those with minor injuries.

UNION PETROLEUM Minister Murli Deora announced on Friday (October 30), that a high-level enquiry committee will probe the fire incident at the Indian Oil Corporation Depot in Jaipur, which led to the death of five people and left many people injured.

Former chairman of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, M B Lal will head the probe committee which includes four other experts including Govind Sharma, Principal Secretary, Mining and Petroleum, Government of Rajasthan.

Deora visited the accident site today morning and he was accompanied by senior IOC officials. During the visit, the minister was informed that the fire has been contained to the installation area and it will end once the fuel completely burns out.

To tackle the inferno, IOC rushed firefighting team from Delhi, Mathura, Panipat, while an ONGC team came from Hazira.

Deora also visited the fire victims at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh in case of death, Rs 2 lakh each for seriously injured and Rs 1 lakh for those with minor injuries.

In a meeting with state chief minister Ashok Gehlot, the union petroleum minister assured that there would be no shortage of petroleum products in the state. The shortfall of the products will be managed through an HPCL terminal at Bagru near Jaipur and also from oil depots in nearby states.
