THE STUDENTS in the U.S based Tri - Valley University which was shut down on charges of massive visa fraud will be helped by the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who has promised India's Foreign Minister S.M Krishna to help the Indians cheated by the university.
Krishna, who is in New York, spoke on phone to Clinton and discussed the matter. In reply Clinton has assured to help and has agreed to sort out the matter asking Indian ambassador to meet her on Monday and provide her details regarding the issue.
Krishna asked Clinton to give students some time to shift to other universities, as according to reports 18 students of the university were radio tagged by the ICE which was said to be a part of their investigation. According to a federal complaint filed in California, the university which has 1,555 students in which 95% are Indians, helped foreign nationals to illegally acquire immigration status. The tags which were removed just before the arrival of Krishna in US was slammed as an action against human rights and government expressed strong displeasure over the treatment which was meted out to the students.
