Himachal gets Rs. 100 crore from Centre under tourism project
The Union Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 100 crores under the Himalayan Circuit of Swadesh Darshan Scheme for Himachal Pradesh.

The State government had proposed 14 sub-projects under the scheme including Convention Centre at Kiarighat in Solan district, Heliport at Shimla, water sports centre at Sunni in Shimla Rural constituency, re-development of Shimla Ice Skating Rink, wayside amenities at Tipra in Solan district, Recreation centre at Manali, artificial rock climbing work at Manali, beautification of Dal lake at Dharamshala, paragliding school at Bir, Rafting Centre at Naduan in Hamirpur district, beautification of Sourabh Kaila Van Vihar, Palampur, Cultutal Centre at Kangra and Art and Culture centre at Bhalei Mata in Chamba etc.

The meeting of the Centre Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee of the Ministry of Tourism was chaired by Vinod Zutshi, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism whereas Chief Secretary V.C. Pharka, Commissioner Tourism Mohan Chauhan and Additional Director Tourism Shri Manoj Sharma were present on behalf of the State Government.

V.C. Pharka thanked the Secretary, Ministry of Tourism for the sanction of projects and stated that the implementation of these projects will give fill-up to the tourism infrastructure in the State.
