Himachal Vidhan Sabha Speaker BBL Butail called on Delhi CM

The Himachal Vidhan Sabha speaker Sh BBL Butail called on the Delhi Chief Minister Mrs Sheila Dixit at New Delhi on Thursday. The Vidhan Sabha speaker requested the Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dixit to expediate the process of environmental clearances and other procedures for starting work on the Renuka dam project in Sirmour district of the state.

He said that the project will permanently solve the water problem of the national capital besides adding an additional 40 MW hydel power to the Delhi government. He said that the Himachal Pradesh government has already submitted a Rs. 1921 crore project proposal to the central government for financing, and the state government is awaiting the response of the central government in this regard.

He requested Delhi Chief Minister to take up the matter at various forum in the union government for enabling the state government for early start of the work so as both the states will immensely benefit from the project.

He also stressed the need of better cooperation and coordination among both the neighbouring states, which can immensely benefit the citizens and expand the trade and commerce in both state to mutually benefit each other.
