Hindu temple and community center planned in Willenhall, England
A Hindu temple and community center is being planned in Willenhall in West Midlands region of England. Besides worship, meditation, religious discourses, chanting and prayer; it also plans to provide education classes, elder day-care, leisure activities, employment training, yoga, social activities, dance classes, etc.; and might hold weddings and funerals also, reports suggest.
Plans have reportedly been submitted to Wolverhampton City Council. Hindu leader Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada Saturday applauded efforts of project leaders and area community to realize this Hindu temple and community center.
Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, further said that it was important to pass on Hindu spirituality, concepts and traditions to coming generations amidst so many distractions in the consumerist society and hoped that this new temple would focus in this direction.
Zed stressed that instead of running after materialism; we should focus on inner search and realization of Self and work towards achieving moksh (liberation), which was the goal of Hinduism.
