'Hindu terror' - a bogey raised by the Congress Party?
Most of the terrorist groups, as the whole world knows, are formed by Muslims. Even Pakistan and many Arab countries realize from the core of their heart that image of entire Muslim community is tarnished by terror attacks carried out by some Muslims. It is also true that in most of the terror attacks all over the world, it is mostly Muslims who are accused and charged with acts of terrorism.

Everyone knows that terrorist have no religion, caste or community. All terrorists are criminals and should be punished in proportion to their crimes at the earliest possible time. It is undeniably true that there are criminals in all sections of the society and all criminals should be treated as criminals without any discrimination based on caste, community,  region or religion.

Unfortunately, it is only India where politicians of all parties use caste and community as a weapon to win the elections. Indian politicians try to win various caste groups with different types of temptations such as caste-based reservation or caste-based developmental schemes or caste-based compensation to families of dead or injured person in any accident or communal riot.

It is India where even the government has to give many thoughts before taking any punitive action against evil doers. The issue of arresting Akbar Owaisi, an MLA from the old Hyderabad, was discussed threadbare before he was put into prison for making ‘seditious’ statements and ‘hate speech’. It is India where admissions in schools and colleges take place on the basis of caste and communities.

It is therefore not astonishing that leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Digvijaya Singh, Kapil sibal and P. Chidambram talk of Hindu terror time and again to win the hearts of Muslim voters. I do not want to entirely blame Rahul Gandhi for his remarks against Hindus as exposed by Wikileaks. It is painful that Rahul Gandhi has given such remarks on foreign land. I, however, understand very well that he is very much immature in politics and he utters the same thoughts which he has learnt from his family members, family gossips and from debates and discussions taking place in various powerful lobbies of the Congress Party which he belongs to. Obviously the controversial voice of Rahul Gandhi exposed by Wikileaks is not only the voice of Rahul Gandhi alone but represents the voice of Congress Party as a whole. Sushil Kumar Shinde, Home Minister of India, is a new player of the ‘Hate-Hindu game’.

Mature leaders never criticize Indian politics or even discuss demerits of Indian internal system at least when they are sitting on foreign lands. Every family has disturbances and difference of opinion among various members of the family but a wise member of the family does not expose other members of the family unnecessarily  when he or she is sitting at places other than his or her own house .Rahul lacks this maturity. Hence entire blame goes to Congress Party, Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Manmohan Singh who are holding key posts and who are supposed to glorify India and save India’s image.

It is unfortunate that Manmohan Singh in the capacity of Prime Minister of India has completely failed to stop the spread of cancer of corruption and cancer of casteism and communalism.

The game of ‘Divide and Rule’ is being played by rulers of this country in general and more particularly by the Congress Party under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. Height of dirty politics is that many stalwarts of Congress Party are not only misusing so called clean image of Manmohan Singh for their vested interest but are also bent upon making Rahul Gandhi the next Prime Minister of the country. What will be the fate of India under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi whose childish remarks against Hindus made on  foreign land have strengthened the hands of Pakistan?

India is after all a country of flatterers and it is India where all decisions are taken not on the basis of merit of the person but entirely on the basis of flattery. Flattery is, therefore, growing by leaps and bounds in India. Congress Party in particular is the party of flatterers and most of them are greedy for money and power. Flatterers as such worship their leaders like a God in expectation of some key posts and some monetary gains. Hence none of flatterers in Congress camp will ever dare to condemn anti national remarks of Rahul Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi. In such position I think it better to accept for the time being the thesis of Rahul Gandhi that India faces dangerous threat not from Lasker –e-Toiba (LeT)or other Pakistan-based terrorist outfits but from Hindu terror outfits.

But I do not hesitate to ask following simple questions to our beloved clean Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and other stalwarts of ruling party.

What action government has taken during eight years of UPA rule to safeguard country from the threat of ‘Hindu terror’?

Instead of expressing concern before the US diplomat, why doesn’t Rahul Gandhi being a Member of Parliament raise his voice in the Parliament?

Why is government blaming ISI and Pakistan-based terrorists for 26 November 2008 Mumbai blast when they believe that Hindu terrorists killed Karkare to avenge the arrest of their leader Sadhwi Pragya, who is allegedly involved in Malegaon blast?

Why government did not take any punitive action against those Hindu leaders who were allegedly behind the killing of Mr. Karkare, the ATS chief?

After the three-week-long deadlock in the Parliament over the demand of JPC by opposition parties to probe into 2G spectrum related corrupt activities of the government, Mr. Manmohan Singh expressed his concern over the threat to Parliamentary democracy in India.

Being the head of the government what steps has the Prime Minister taken to save India and Parliamentary democracy from the clutches of opposition party members?

What steps Manmohan Singh government has taken to stop catch and punish corrupt officials and ministers during last eight years though he has admitted several times the increasing role of corruption in Indian administrative system?

In a nutshell, I would say that raising the bogey of the ‘Hindu Terror’ by the Congress-led government at this stage is nothing but a silly attempt to mislead the country.

This article is fully biased and a pathetic attempt by a Hindutva protagonist to divert attention away from Hindu terrorist realities. If one has to criticise the UPA Govt. - fair enough, but why unjustifiably condemn all terrorists as Muslims. The author has a very poor knowledge of history and current affairs. To name a few dreaded International terrorist organisations - ETA in Spain, IRA(Sinn Fenn) in Ireland, LTTE in Sri Lanka - were they all Islamic organisations? And who can forget the mass sms campaigns carried out by the RSS/BJP before any Lok Sabha elections with content of the type - "Not all Muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims". It's the saffron brigade which has given religious colour to terrorists and not the UPA Govt. And for info of all saffronites, I am not a Congress supporter, but a Leftist. Please realise that there are other schools of thought besides the two wretched corrupt parties represented by you two.

Mr.Brigadier CHITRANJAN SAWANT, should know the exact definition of Terrorism, before writing any such Article.
avishkar
I think Brigadier saab have gone old to see the changing face of terrorism. "Muslims are terrorists", huh? You guys are the people who actually were responsible for India-Pak divide.
Alim Shanker
Brig.Sawant is probably playing by the stereotype definition of 'terrorist organization'. Most common man will. But as an ex-army man he should know better. Its a matter of perception and brand building exercises by various organization. But that doesn't change the very core of your actions. Just like if ISI gets a bomb blast organized - you will call it terrorism and if RAW or CIA gets it done, we will say "impossible. must be something wrong with the data". Just like all Russians are villains in Hollywood movies and US always a hero. I guess Mr. Sawant is just using this platform and the prevalent brand image against muslims (even though he knows it is wrong) to safeguard his favourite Hindu brothers. Dear Sir, have you heard of (1) Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (2) Orange Foundation (3) Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (4) Shining Path (5) Tamil Nadu Liberation Army (6) Tamil National Retrieval Troops (7) World Tamil Movement (8) Vanguards of Conquest (9) United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (10) International Sikh Youth Federation ??? All the above are listed among terrorist organizations for different activities they undertook under their banner. Many of them are supposedly formed with the aim to promote cultural and social issues relevant to local people. Don't you think the story is similar to RSS? Why should RSS be treated differently? Just because it has a bigger and richer supporter base and can play around with the perception?

Just because Shinde broached the topic of "Hindu terrorism", you bring in a Muslim angle? How fair is that? Deny, if you must cause that is your right and that creates your existence. But do not paint your denial with a offensive stance shooting at every direction you can - "most terror groups formed by muslims"; "rahul gandhi immature"; "manmohan singh cant handle opposition" etc etc etc. You make a serious topic look funny.

There can always be thousand of points you raise against a ruling govt. Even the people of US can point fingers to all their Presidents. Its easy to criticize and so we do that. But how does that discredit any serious claim the home minister makes? The issue of Hindu terrorism has been spoken about by many for years and denied by even more for years. The home minister talking about it doesnt necessarily mean its a political blame game. Bringing in incompetency of Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi and all others and raising hundreds of questions ( though they have their own merits) doesnt necessarily diffuse the gravity of crime. Lets not use two wrongs to make a right.

A very very biased article. In fact such biases are the prime reason for a religion and caste based divide in our society. "Most of the terror group are formed by muslims" sounds like the same stupid logic of post 9/11 US fanatics - "people wearing turbans must be afghans". With due respect to Brig. Sawant, are you trying to say that "Hindu terror" does not exist at all? Do you remember the case where a Christian priest was burned alive with his two juvenile son in Orissa by a Hindu fanatic named Dara Singh? Its sad that instead of discussing the very core of terrorism and trying to eradicate it from roots, we are still living in a state of denial.

The Republic Day commentary of this scribe on ZEE T.V. was colored. I'm sending my response to expose its shrewd biases. I don't know if 'Merinews" would publish it. There is only a shade difference in MOST and ALL. It is weak defense Sahrda Ji. Violence is violence! BODO or Naxalites, it is immaterial.
I notice the sensitivity of nationalist Muslim brethren about being tarred with terror brush. However, please I note that Brig. Sawant has clearly said 'Most' of the terror groups and not all. That an army man brought up on strictly secular traditions (in true sense, not in currently fashionable way) has said this should give his statement more credence rather than suspecting his credentials and criticising him. Unless we are clinically objective about what ails our nation, we shall not find solutions. By pointing fingers in all directions except inward, we are only avoiding the truth. I also think that we should not mix up religious fundametalist terror with people like Bodos and Ulfa. They are being thrown out of their own lands and their culture is being overwhelmed by outsiders. The overall alarming situation in North East is again due to circumstances created by entrenched Christian lobbies since British times who converted innocent locals and then spread seeds of separation; and others who are being made minorities in their own lands from outsiders pouring in from Bangladesh.
Naim Naqvi
And to add insult to injury, these comments are coming from a retired army man. Army is a institution is guarding the nation, borders of nation, values of nation and the integrity of nation. We are proud of them. Horrors of horrors to imagine, some one sporting such colored glasses could have done more damage than good for the country in situations where the decisions are made in split of seconds.
Dear Brigadier, I really object your views on terrorism. You started your discussion with your assumption that most of the terrorist groups are formed by muslims which is completely baseless. It is a US propaganda against muslims and people like you are believing this as a fact. It is shameful for all those who believe all these rubbish. I don't believe that any religion teches us terrorism. For your information on this very website I had written article on the subject of terrorism and Muslims. If you want to counter those points then we can discuss in details on the subject. No doubt, our country is facing terrorism from several quarters inculding cross border terrorism of Pakistan. I would like to knwo what is your views on BODO, ULFA and other such organization specially VHP which are spreading hatred against muslim continuously. But none of the BJP leader ever opposed the word muslim terror. What is your opinion on that? Do you believe that it is right to call muslim terror? If not so why you haven't ever written such article against the hatemongers of Islam?
Naim Naqvi
And here are the answers of all the issues you have raised. Your article indicates that you have not done the home work with diligence. You know nothing about IRA, Maowadis, Spanish and Japanese terror groups or you're deliberately ignoring realities. None of them are Muslims. Some groups from Palestine took up to arms when Israel perpetuated the worst of brutalities and driven out the helpless masses from their motherland. Terror groups of Pakistan were created by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and United States. India is dealing with them with the best possible resources at its disposal. It was Thakur Jaswant Singh who had gone to Kabul to ......and no need to remind that he is a jewel of BJP. Coming to Akbar Owasi's case, he made certain observations and challenges which were objectionable and law is taking its own course. Congress and the government has done its duty. Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Digvijay Singh, Kapil Sibal, P Chidambram and Sonia Ji are talking straight and not beating about the bush. They know the facts. When the ribald organizations can get their funds from foreign lands what is so harm if Rahul Ji has spoken about the subject in a foreign land (if he has done). Our Home Minister is a torch bearer of truth. He thinks well before he speaks. He is no Tkackreys, Togadiyas. He is not in the 'hate Hindu game'. He is out to expose the ugly face of fascism, communalism and ghaddari which is masquerading behind the name of the most beautiful religion upon earth.
