Expressing serious concern over the poor telecom services provided by government owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), particularly in Jammu Province, the BSNL authorities have been warned to either improve the services immediately or be prepared to face a mass protest.
Shri Ram Sena state president, Rajiv Mahajan, said
that the BSNL subscribers are facing immense problems due to frequent
call drops, poor network and poor connectivity. He said that they had
to redial a number several times to get the call connected. He
maintained that most of the calls are disconnected due to the network
He said that the BSNL services are extremely poor
due to which the people of Jammu Province are facing lot of problems. "Many a time I raised the issue with the BSNL authorities, but they
have failed to improve the services so far."
He also said that government is least concerned
about the welfare of people. "We are living in 21st century of
information and technology but poor BSNL services have pushed us back
to the 9th century," he added.
He said that the BSNL communication system has
totally collapsed and the subscribers are forced to switch to private
cellphone companies which are providing much better services than the
BSNL. He said that BSNL authorities have never bothered to up-grade
the services to the satisfaction of the subscribers despite charging
huge rent and call charges.
