HIV positive pregnant couple gets wrongly diagnosed in Gurgaon's Civil hospital
In a recent incident at the civil hospital in Gurgaon,a couple, who were pregnant were said that they were not HIV positive. What was an initial happiness for the couple, soon turned into a nightmare when the report from the civil hospital was proved to be wrong.

HIV infected couples always needs special care so that future complications are avoided. However, this couple received no such treatment and the pregnant lady was given regular care and medical attention.

This Gurgaon couple, who comes from a semi-rural background came to know that they are HIV positive in 2011 by the Civil Hospital. After deciding to have a child and conceiving in March, the couple went to Civil hospital. As per Haryana government rule, they underwent a HIV test, which is mandatory.

The new report showed that she was HIV negative. However her treatment proceeded without the doctor's noticing her earlier status or health results. As was reported by, earlier this month she visited a gynecologist at Civil Hospital and told her that she was HIV positive, which was not what was written in her reports. When the reports came as positive, the hospital referred the case to Delhi hospital.

Talking about the case, CMO Pushpa Bishnoi said, ''We'll first have to figure out why she was referred to a new hospital. We're carrying out investigations. Action will be taken if lab reports were found to be false.''
