THE MATCH between Australia and England at the wonderful Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, India, was a worth watching event having a lot of ups and downs. Australia has lost to England with 2-3, England scoring two sensational goals in first half.
 
The match started at 18:35 in group B. Australia were favourites to win as England haven’t beaten them for more than 20 years. Matt Daly was a late withdrawal from the England’s squad having ripped his hamstring five days before the tournament's start. His absence opened the way for Surbiton team mate James Tindall and Reading's Simon Mantell.
 
In the first half both teams proved their mettle and were at their best. England has shown an excellent performance dominating the first half throughout and scored two precious goals in the first half. Australia also scored one goal during first half. In the 66th minute, Dwyer struck second time for Australia but after that no team could manage to score a goal and England won the match by 3-2. England's Glenn Kirkham was declared man of the match.
