Hollywood film Patriots Day
Hollywood film, Patriots Day, based on 2013 Boston Marathon bombings starring Academy Award nominee actor, Mark Wahlberg (The Departed), Kevin Bacon (Black Mass, X-Men), Academy Award Winner, JK Simmons (Whiplash) to release pan-India on 3rd March.

After giving two blockbusters, Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon, Hollywood star and Academy Award nominee actor-producer, Mark Wahlberg teams up with the director, Peter Berg again for "Patriots Day" which is slated for its pan-India release on March 3rd.

Based on the true incident, a gripping account of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings that killed three spectators and wounded more than 260 people, "Patriots Day" re-creates the horror of the attack and the all-consuming manhunt for bombers that followed and tells a powerful story of community's extraordinary courage to face the adversity.

The tension-packed dramatic thriller features an impressive ensemble cast starring Mark Wahlberg (Academy Award nominee for The Departed), Kevin Bacon (Black Mass, X-Men First Class), JK Simmons (Academy Award Winner- Best Supporting Actor, 2014 – Whiplash; Spider-Man film franchise), John Goodman (Argo, Inside Llewyn Davis), Michelle Monaghan (Source Code, Dreamgirls).

The CBS Films and Lionsgate Production is being released in India by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

This is the third collaboration between Oscar nominee actor and producer Mark Wahlberg and director Peter Berg after Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon.  It's also one of the most personal films for Wahlberg who grew up in Boston.

Peter Berg says, "Patriots Day is a film about civic heroism, strength and resilience in the face of evil, a story that demanded to be told." He adds, "What's powerful, haunting and disturbing about this event is that it didn't happen in the mountains of war torn Afghanistan or a besieged city in the Middle East, but rather on Main Street USA."

Adds Wahlberg, "People will continue to do bad things, but they cannot dictate how we live our lives. We need to be able to go to a marathon, we need to be able to go to a baseball game, we need to be able to go to the movies, we need to be able to live normal lives and we all have to come together. The people of Boston showed that, in the end, love of our fellow men is always going to win out. That's why this story needed to be told. And why the film's positive message should be seen by everybody."

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Peter Berg, Patriots Day is an account of the 2013 Boston Marathon  bombings and the everyday heroes who inspired the world in the extraordinary hours that followed.  In the aftermath of an unspeakable act of terror, Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg) joins courageous survivors, first responders and investigators in a race against the time to hunt down the bombers before they strike again. Weaving together the stories of Special Agent Richard Deslauriers (Kevin Bacon), Police Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman), Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese (JK Simmons) and nurse Carol Saunders (Michelle Monaghan) this visceral and unflinching chronicle captures the suspense of the most sophisticated manhunt in law enforcement history and the strength of the people of Boston.
