“It is a really funny manifesto; I heard it first time in my life. Is it related to country’s development?” asked Anirudh, 24, resident of Dehradun smilingly. “I think good set of population in Uttarakhand would be laughing. It is very difficult for me to explain the meaning of gau mutra to my overseas friends,” added Namarta Sharma, Engineering executive with an MNC.
The manifesto for cow devotion is not going to end here, the BJP promises to revive the position of one of home-grown cow known as ‘Lal Sindhi Cow’, a best milch breed. The organization is set to look into the grievances of violence against cow.
“Sounds astonishing, this cow devotion is more important than human beings. This is very good way to solve food security,” said Puneet, a student of Doon Valley Public school.
The party has also got in touch with Baba Ramdev’s Pitanjali Yogpeeth, ashrams and akharas in the state to connect this devotion society for community awareness. The state government has recently set up world-class Cow Science and Technology Institute near Rishikesh for research work and related subjects especially cow urine. The party somehow wants to woo voters as cow is devotional representation in the state. The Rastiya Swaysewak Sangh (RSS) which is considered ideological mentor of BJP has been endorsing experiments on the five cow products (Panchgavya). It includes fertilizers from urine and dung of cow besides discovering all from medicinal properties to make a cola from cow urine. It is still to be seen that this cow devotion impresses voters.
“I doubt that I will not get coca cola in India next time, but surely urine cola,” said Mayur Dhawan, my Switzerland based friend laughingly. In India it may be a big achievement for our politicians but overseas it will be a great fun.
