Honey Singh speaks out and says that he is being targeted
Punjabi rapper Honey Singh, who is under fire for obscene lyrics of some of his songs, has spoken out against the uproar saying that his name has been unnecessarily trapped into the controversy. Taking to Twitter, he said, 'All this going on right now.. They just needed an excuse and they've found one. CONGRATULATION!'
HE FURTHER added to the statement blaming the government, “Before you blame me, blame the government for not taking action against the rapists in the first place! Don't use me as an excuse!” A FIR was filed last Monday against the Punjabi rapper, who calls himself the international villager. The FIR was filed against his song, 'Main Hoon Balatkari' that clearly says that even if he does not do anything of that sort, yet he supports heinous crimes like rape.
However, there is a lot of confusion in the singers' life right now as he says that the song mentioned above was not written by him and someone is using his name for these songs. According to zeenews website, he also said that, “I've sent notices to YouTube and other websites which have uploaded the offensive number. I am shocked that such a song could even be believed to be mine. I come from a family where women are respected. And I'd never disrespected women by espousing rape.” Another song, that actually gave him stardom and cannot be named, is also denied by the rapper as his own. Apparently, he has asked his lawyers to look into the matter and find out the actual culprit.
Stating that he is being made the target, in another amusing report on The Times of India website, he denied being the actual Twitter handle, which apologised for his 'past mistakes.' He said, “What past mistakes? Why should I apologize when I've repeatedly stated that I haven't written those filthy songs? On Twitter the handle @thehoneysingh1 is a fake ID. My original Twitter is @asliyoyo. I am amused at how far my haters can go to discredit me. They are not only creating fake filthy songs in my name they are also creating fake Twitter accounts to bring me down.
According to the singer, people are jealous that a villager from Hoshiarpur can reach such heights. He is currently under protection of his bodyguards as he has received a number of death threats and even his father has called him up to inquire whether he wanted to be a singer for this purpose? Whatever the truth, Honey Singh is in a lot of pain right now.
