The accused Mandeep and Ankit, who are cousins were arrested in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Their third accomplice, Nakul who is also their friend was arrested for helping out the brothers in this dastardly crime.
IN CONNECTION with the recent honour killing case which has shocked the national capital, the three accused who were on Thursday arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police were sent to a judicial custody for 14 days on Friday by the court in Garhmukteshwar. The Delhi police had asked for their custody so that they could gain further lead into the case and its investigation.
The accused Mandeep and Ankit, who are cousins were arrested in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Their third accomplice, Nakul who is also their friend was arrested for helping out the brothers.According to the police, the two cousins had shot dead Ankit's sister for eloping with a man and later getting married with him. The police also suspect their involvement in murdering Mandeep's sister for helping the couple to run away.
On the same day, the relatives of the accused were also arrested for making insenitive statements regarding the other communities and they also supported “honour killings”. Mandeep's father in support of the dastardly act said, “ I think the youth have done a good job. Let society get the message. I support it completely.”
