Haryana's politicians are known internationally for changing loyalties and the famous phrase 'Aaya Ram Gaya Ram' was originated from Haryana. Yadav who had used every adjective available in the dictionary to praise Devilal, his son Om Pakash andgrandsons Ajay and Abhay Chautala and bashing Bhupinder Hooda, is nowa think tank of Hooda.
Now come to the allegations. Yadav had written in his book, which was published in 2002, that Devi Lal lost Rohtak Lok Sabha seat to Bhupinder Singh Hooda by 30, 537 votes. Quoting an unknown political scientist Yadav writes that survey of thirty villages, where Devi Lal's opponents had won according to the counting agents, showed that Devi Lal was actually not loser there. He added that actually Devi Lal had scored much votes than his opponent.
It was rigging at the time of counting that tilted the result in the favour of Devi- Lal's Congress opponent. Yadav writes that Devi Lal did not questioned the verdict and had brushed aside his well - wishers suggestion to go to court or do something else in the matter.
SMSes and emails sent by this citizen journalist to Hooda and his OSD (Media) Dr. K.V. Singh and Delhi based media advisor Shiv Bhattia for their comments on Yadav's allegations did not get any response. Yadav had alleged that Hooda has wonsubsequent election held in 1996 and in 1998 with the help of ruling elite.
Yadav had also alleged in his book that in1991, Chatterpal of Congress has also won elections from Ghiraya assembly constituency defeating Devi Lal by using rigging. When contacted Chhaterpal described the allegations of Yadav as rubbish, adding that he had won despite the fact that none of the Congress leaders helped him during elections.
Thanking late Rajiv Gandhi for giving him ticket he claimed that he had created history by defeating sitting Deputy Prime Minister from a constituency which was their stronghold for decades.
Chatterpal added that his victory is significant as compared to victory of Bhupinder Hooda as in past also Congress has been winning Rohtak seat. He further added that Indira Gandhi has lost Lok Sabha polls but never a deputy prime minister and King Maker, who had made VP Singh as Prime Minister had lost assembly seat.
