Hope for Haiti faces flak from some quarters of media
Also facing brickbats is the 'vampire' star Robert Pattinson who failed to give a live performance on the charity event. Pattinson, according to the web, 'didn't even think it important enough to show up live. His contribution was pre-recorded.'

THE HOPE for Haiti telethon which was being touted as the biggest fund raiser event for Haiti is now facing flak from some quarters of the media – who are of view that instead of ripping recession hit civilians (by making them buy the concert tickets) the stars should have contributed money directly towards the cause.

Also facing brickbats is the ‘vampire’ star Robert Pattinson who failed to give a live performance on the charity event. Pattinson, according to the web, “didn't even think it important enough to show up live. His contribution was pre-recorded.”

The website also said that Pattinson was trying to be “far too cool and striking a pose unlike every other presenter who just got on with the job on hand, which was to deliver funds for the poverty stricken homeless and hurt in Haiti.”

“Robert came on stage unkempt, dressed in trampish clothes, mumbled his lines, spoke in a very low voice and made no sense whatever,” said the website.

Stars who won some accolades for the event were Ben Stiller, Morgan Freeman, Sting, Bono and Madonna who gave the night “wonderful energy and sense of hope.”

The website called Irishcentral said, “Robert Pattinson gave the impression he wanted to be anywhere else – and indeed he was by taping it. Which is pretty much in keeping with this self-obsessed, poser who has somehow cracked the limelight.”
